JOY to the world...the LORD is come! Let earth RECEIVE her KING!
I love that song. Unfortunately, we often sing it year after year without really thinking about the words. Epecially the word, "receive". I was thinking the other day about what it really meant to RECEIVE the Lord as King. I mean, we are familiar with accepting Jesus as our Saviour but as King?
How do you respond to a King?
The first thing I think of is bowing...which represents humility or total submission. Have you submitted every area of your life to HIM?
How about the music you listen to or the television progams you watch? Ouch! Are they suitable to present to THE KING?
I was reading Psalm 24 recently...and it spoke volumes to me about our KING. Listen to what King David said about our King :
Psalm 24
1 The earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell therein.
2 For He has founded it upon the seas,
And established it upon the waters.
3 Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD?
Or who may stand in His holy place?
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,
Nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive blessing from the LORD,
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face. Selah
7 Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD strong and mighty,
The LORD mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah
The LORD is our KING of GLORY! He is strong and mighty! He is able to fight our battles!
The real question is...have YOU received this KING of KINGS? If not, the good news is...it's not too late!
Do it now! Just ask Him! He will come in!
I promise...your whole life will change. I know mine did!
..."let every heart, prepare Him room..." Thank you Lord for the day you spoke sweet peace to my heart and I bowed and asked you not only be my Lord and Savior but THE KING of my life!
Merry Christmas everyone!!!
"I was just POWDERING my nose Mommy!"
